What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is possibly as old as mankind. The old myths and misconceptions about hynosis have given way to proven, scientifically sound applications. Since the British Medical Council approved its use in the 1950s hypnosis is used in many fields including medicine, dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports and in education.

How does it work?
Our minds work simply on two levels, the conscious and unconscious. We make everyday choices and decisions, think and act with the conscious. The unconscious mind drives us and controls our habits and this is where our patterns around behaviour sit. For example that is why it seems easy to put a cigarette out and consciously say 'well that's my last one' only to find ourselves later on picking up and lighting another cigarette without giving it any thought, our unconscious mind has automatically kicked in to a familiar habit and reacted accordingly.

Will it work for me?
Generally speaking everyone is able to be hypnotized, exceptions to this are extremely low IQ, severe mental disorders.

How will I know I am hypnotized?
You won't necessarily, it is a myth this 'great powerful trance-like' state. What you are likely to feel is nicely sleepy and relaxed, a little like when you wake in the morning and you are not quite asleep but not quite awake. You are in control all the time and are aware of everything around you. Some people feel quite heavy and relaxed others a lightness.

Is hypnosis safe?
It is completely safe, nobody can make you do anything you don't want to. You are aware and in control all the time and can easily terminate a session. Most people who arrive a little wary of hypnosis are delighted at how good, positive and confident they feel after a session.

How does hypnosis help me change negative behaviour once and for all?
Negative and destructive habits are controlled by the unconscious, hypnosis and nlp work with the unconscious and therefore the results are quick, easy and very effective. If for example you only work with the conscious mind you have this interminable battle going on - we help you to arrive at positive change by utilizing the conscious and unconscious to both desire the same things, once they do the battle is over!
